Remember when Tim McCarver tried to turn fans against Manny for saying, it wasn’t the end of the world to not win the World Series? That’s the attitude that allows Boston to make these comebacks.
Remember the scene in “Fever Pitch”? The Sox had just lost to go down 3-0; Varitek, Damon and another player or 2, were eating dinner at a restaurant, and having a good time. People were surprised they weren’t home, contemplating suicide. There’s a lesson in life, to be learned there. For those who missed it the 1st time, in ‘03, Manny just drummed it home last month.

I’ve been doing some searching around online and have yet to make a post about it (lazy ass!!).

Amphetamines are a HUGE boost for endurance sports.

I am not making excuses for Martina but it must be hard to be on top at such a young age only to not be able to achieve it again later on in life. Same with Marion Jones. Both of these people were trying to regain their youth sort of speak.They both went about it the wrong way.

Umm, bad choice for Marion, personally, I loathe what she did, and how long she avoided/declined to answer questions regarding her and PEDs.
I don’t care what the circumstances are, you are getting an advantage, and if you are still competing to win and do win, you have NO say - you aren’t trying to regain your youth, you are cheating - you are lying to the public and setting unrealistic goals (that look great for a financial bottom line) for future athletes.
The “well, they do it too” mentality has to stop, but it will never as long as people have the “well, I want as much as they make” mentality.
